I can’t get the picture cropped successfully, but you’ll get the idea (and Mark Rakes will tell me how to fix the picture. 🙂
In August, Jenny Wayman and I were on our way back from Sandpoint and we passed a cyclist walking his bike along highway 95. In search of good cycling karma, we stopped to help him. I fixed the minor problem with his bike, we gave him a ride to Coeur d’Alene and dropped him off at Coeur d’Alene Bike Co. with $20.
Matt , one of the CdA Bike Co. owners, pulled Jenny aside and said, “He’s a regular in town. Be careful.” We hadn’t been inclined to offer him a place to stay, as we may have with some cyclists.
A few days ago, I passed him in northern California.
“Hey! Remember me?” I said. He did And he was wearing a clean Idaho t-shirt- as he walked his bike.
